Indian Import Requirements for Chinese Goods
Indian importers need a valid IEC. Cargo needs a commercial invoice, packing list and Bill of Lading or Air Waybill, and the Bill of Entry is filed electronically. Customs duty and IGST are calculated on the HS code and value. Some Chinese-origin goods attract additional duties such as anti-dumping or safeguard duty, and many products, especially electronics and electricals, need BIS certification or must meet quality control orders.
